Best of Brisbane

Best of Brisbane

Are you looking to taste some award-winning beers but don't want to venture too far out of the city? The Best of Brisbane is for you!

After your pick up, we will begin our day by visiting Newstead Brewing Co where you have the chance to sample their core range of beers – plus maybe a few seasonal brews if you’re lucky - and get treated to a behind-the-scenes guided tour of a working brewery, where an incredible staff member will talk you through the brewing process and methods involved in getting your beer from ingredients to finished product.

Around the corner we stop into Green Beacon Brewing Co for some generous samples of their award-winning beer. While we recommend a few for you based on what tried previously, there's flexibility to try their seasonal releases and even cider if it's on tap.

Learning about the brewing process can be hungry work, so at our third stop you not only get a delicious lunch to soak up your previous samples, but a schooner of their brewed-on-site beer or another tasting paddle. We share the love with our lunch venues and may be chowing down at Milton Common or Sea Legs Brewing.

After a leisurely visit, we end our day with a stop at one of the various other breweries around town, from Soapbox Beer to Helios Brewing to Ballistic to Bacchus to anything in between! Each brewery offers a core range to taste, as well as constantly creating some new and exciting flavours that we may find on tap.

Once back in the city, we will drop you off at your pick up location or a venue that suits you - within reason, of course!

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. Closed-toe shoes recommended. Strictly no drinking on the vehicle. Itinerary subject to change based on opening hours, events, traffic, etc.

Please note that we are visiting working breweries and it’s suggested you wear closed-toe shoes so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Also, since they don’t always run on a set schedule, we will try and catch the brewers in action but that can’t always be guaranteed; keep an open mind on the day because no matter what or who we see, the beers are always epic. Sometimes the itineraries will change at a whim; this may be because of traffic, a last-minute decision from the brewery or any number of things, so we ask for your patience and flexibility.

What better way to cool down on the sizzling Gold Coast than with a full day beer exploration?! We invite you to come with us and discover the surf, sand, and beer with a few award winning brews around the iconic Gold Coast!

We'll start with some lunch at a classic Gold Coast craft beer bar, where each meal paired will be paired with a paddle of cold frothies. Here we will dive into the history and ingredients of beer and revel in one of Gold Coast's best beer venues.

Maybe we'll start at Madocke Beer Brewing, a hole-in-the-wall Belgian brewery run by real Belgians! Suss out a saison or try a tripel; this is one of our guests' favourite places to visit!

After some lunch, we'll duck into a residential neighbourhood to be surprised and delighted with what Black Hops has on tap; here we will have the chance to check out their brewery and taste their fresh brews. If head brewer Michael "Govs" McGovern is around, he'll take time out to answer questions you may have and tell the stories behind each of the beers on offer.

Lost Palms Brewing has taken a unique, chilled-out vibe to their space, filled with bright colours and thirst-quenching beers. Comfy couches mean you can sit back and sip your brews in comfort.

From here we will move on to an original and iconic Gold Coast brewery: Burleigh Brewing, where we will walk through the brewery and learn about their history as the longest-operating brewery on the Gold Coast. Taste their core range, plus maybe a "bit on the side" (seasonal release beers) and marvel at the size of their brewery.

Of course no trip would be complete without the so-hot-it's-cool Balter (maybe we'll even spot a surfer or two!), where beach meets beer. Award-winning brewer Scotty Hargreave creates some delicious beers to keep you refreshed, and we'll have a tasting paddle here.

The day will see us visiting THREE of the FOUR breweries on the Gold Coast, along with lunch. Throughout the day we keep you well-fed and full of delicious beer, with plenty of samples accompanied by tasting notes and witty commentary. The brewers are happy to show you the ropes, help you understand the brewing process and answer any questions you may have. Whether it's a hot day and you need a cool drink or it's a cool day and you want to warm up, our Coldie on the Goldie tour is perfect for all occasions.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. All your friends may know you're of-age, but it's only the first time we've met, and we'd hate for you to get turned away from any of the breweries by looking too young to appreciate good brews. Strictly no drinking on the vehicle.

Seen everything in the city? If you're up for a bit more of a drive to some of those harder to reach venues, this tour is perfect! Get out of the city and prepare to be surprised and delighted with these hidden brewery gems.

After your pick up we will start the day with a visit the funky and unique Aether Brewing, where we introduce you to their range of craft beers plus maybe a few guest brews that may be pouring on the day.

Leaving here, we begin the 45 minute drive to 4 Hearts Brewing at The Pumpyard. Here we will get out and stretch our legs, then have a tour of the brewery. Located within the walls of an historic building and with glistening metallic tanks you can reach out and touch, Wade Curtis (the owner) has trademarked the “stainless steel selfie”, so grab a picture to share with your friends!

We will enjoy a delicious lunch here after a refreshing tasting paddle of 4 Hearts' wide range of beers, with top-quality produce to match the fine brews on tap. If the weather's nice we can grab a seat outside or sit in a private eating area within the historic walls.

A short drive back toward Brisbane sees us visiting White Lies Brewing Co in Sumner Park. One of the smaller breweries we visit today, we will have the chance to chat with owner/head brewer Lee "Smiley" McAlister and taste what he has on tap.

Finishing at Ballistic Beer Co, housed in an old WWII munitions factory, we get the VIP treatment with seats on the brewery floor as we kick back with four final tasters. Alternatively we may visit Slipstream or Helios, just depending on the day!

Once the tour has come to a close we will drop you off at one of our partner pubs in Brisbane where you can keep drinking delicious beer to your hearts’ content.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. Strictly no drinking on the van. We encourage lots of photos during the day!

Come along with us and check out some of the harder to reach Brisbane breweries as we venture around the southern suburbs. Producing award winning beers, these venues will surprise and delight with their offerings.

Join us as we visit the brewing sensations south of the Brisbane river on our Southern Sessions tour!

After pick up at your designated location, we will start the day at Brisbane Brewing Co for a great tasting paddle and explanation of what goes into your beer!

Once we finish here, we'll sidle on down the road for a filling lunch and more beers to sample at Revel Brewing Co in Bulimbawhere we can relax and enjoy some great food, sip on super fresh beers and get a tour of the brewery (at Revel) and a chat with head brewer, Matty.

Next comes the short drive to Yeerongpilly to visit the quickly-growing Slipstream. With so many great brews on offer, we recommend you pair up with a buddy to taste as many as possible! An excellent place for locals, Slipstream's head brewer, Ian Watson, is one of the best in the business - and we're sure you'll agree! Pick up a few 4-packs or fill a growler or squealer of their fine product so you can savour it later tonight!

Our final stop of the day is Ballistic Beer Co, where their VIP treatment gets guests onto the brewery floor - truly in the thick of things! - and treated to four of their finest! Their beers are top notch, so we will save room in the esky for any takeaways you grab. There's a food truck here in case you're feeling peckish (food not included at this stop) so feel free to grab something to munch on.

Please note we may swap out Slipstream or Ballistic for Helios Brewing - we like to share the love!

After our day has finished, we're happy to drop you back in the city at a bar or restaurant of your choosing, or to where you need to be (within reason).

Brisbane Makers Tour

Brisbane Makers Tour

Join our unique Makers Tour in Brisbane and get behind the scenes of small scale, local rum distilleries, breweries, and cafes. Beer, rum, and paddock-to-plate food offerings will leave you delighted and satisfied.

After pick up, our tour will start the morning with a caffeine hit as we learn about coffee cupping at Fonzie Abbott roasters. as well as learn the art of coffee roasters and (hopefully) see and smell some of the action! A sweet treat will keep everyone going as we move on to what's next.

Around now is that awkward time where you aren't sure whether to have another coffee or crack open a beer, so we'll decide for you: beer it is! At Newstead Brewing Co we learn all about the ingredients of beer and the process of brewing, as well as share some of the historically significant stories behind the names of the beers on offer. Always a great experience, especially when one of the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff give our guests a VIP behind-the-scenes tour.

By this stage everyone's worked up a fair appetite, so we will head to Mongrel for some tasty treats. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options here, as the chef infuses Peruvian cuisine with modern Australian fare. Mongrel supports Loop Farmers and dishes up what's produced locally, organically and in season. Plus they always support local craft beer and spirits, which is a bonus!

To wash down a fantastic meal, we'll finish the day at Milton Rum Distillery, where head distiller Alex will treat you to the history of the venue and walk everyone through some rum tasting. Their old-world approach with modern techniques allows Milton Rum Distillery to produce premium cane spirits with a difference.

All good things must come to an end, and we will drop you back within the city (or you can kick on and keep drinking rum!) at one of the pick up locations or a venue of your choice (within reason).

Come out and support local on this fun day out that caters to all discerning tastes.

Get out of the city centre to head north and taste some beers from Brisbane's fastest-growing breweries.

After your pick up, our day will start with a visit to Happy Valley Brewing Co where you have the chance to sample their core range of beers – plus maybe a few seasonal brews if you’re lucky - and get treated to a behind-the-scenes guided tour of a working brewery, where an incredible staff member (or owner) will talk you through the brewing process and methods involved in getting your beer from ingredients to finished product.

Just a short drive away is Aether Brewing Co, where we will chat about more beer history, share some anecdotes, and try a selection of fresh, in-season beers. While we recommend a few for you based on what tried previously, there's flexibility to try their seasonal releases, sours, and other exciting creations.

Hungry yet? Our third stop is all about delicious food and unique beers at Fick Brewing Co. Think Belgian-style beers paired with European-inspired foods, like burgers, pizzas and salads with a twist!

After a leisurely visit, we end our day with a stop at All Inn Brewing Co where we may even be treated to live music as we sample from their core range or seasonal releases. You may not want to leave the welcoming vibe of "the Shed", so we can leave you here to train back to the city if you wish, otherwise after a relaxing visit we will end our stay.

Once back in the city, we will drop you off at your pick up location or a venue that suits you - within reason, of course!

Please note during the week Fick is not open and Bravo Brewhouse is our preferred lunch option. There may also be occasions where we begin the day at Fonzie Abbott instead of Happy Valley, or add it as an extra.

Join our unique Distillery Tour in Brisbane and get behind the scenes of small scale local rum distilleries, gin distilleries, and cafes.

After pick up at one of our set locations, you will be whisked out of the city to Sumner Park to White Lies Brewing & Distilling, where head-distiller, Sean, will explain the distilling process in detail before inviting you to sample four of the gins that have been distilled on site. Each distinct gin comes with its own tonic and garnish so you get to explore a range of flavours.

Gin can go to one's head pretty quickly, so from here we will lunch at Mongrel, a venue that strongly supports local producers and provides exquisite, delicious food! Of course what's a meal without a drink? Featuring local brewers and distillers on their menu, guests can have a drink of their choice (within reason) from local beer/wine/spirits options.

Next is a short drive to Milton Rum Distillery where head distiller Alex will talk through the history of rum, distillation and ageing process (and how it's different to vodka and gin) and guide us through 4 x 15ml rum samples.

To finish the afternoon, we will visit Eleven Bridges gin distillery for a final tasting paddle of 4 locally produced spirits paired with fresh tonic water.

At 12:45pm, the Hop On Brewery Tours van will meet you at the marina to start your beer journey for the day! Whilst you may have indulged in a few bevvies on the water, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone heavily intoxicated.

After working up an appetite, it's time to line your stomach with some delicious food from Precint Brewing or Lost Palms Brewing, where we also start your beer education. Here guests will discover a unique, chilled-out space filled with bright colours and thirst-quenching beers. Comfy couches mean you can sit back and sip your brews in comfort.

Next we may duck into a residential neighbourhood to be surprised and delighted with what Black Hops has on tap; here we will have the chance to check out their brewery and taste their fresh brews. If head brewer Michael "Govs" McGovern is around, he'll take time out to answer questions you may have and tell the stories behind each of the beers on offer. (Please note we are unable to visit Black Hops with groups over 10 guests or for any bucks parties).

Or maybe we'll visit the original and iconic Gold Coast brewery: Burleigh Brewing, where we will walk through the brewery and learn about their history as the longest-operating brewery on the Gold Coast. Taste their core range, plus maybe a "bit on the side" (seasonal release beers) and marvel at the size of their brewery.

Alternatively, maybe we'll decide to finish the day at the so-hot-it's-cool Balter (maybe we'll even spot a surfer or two!), where beach meets beer. Award-winning brewer Scotty Hargreave creates some delicious beers to keep you refreshed, and we'll have a tasting paddle here.

The day will see us visiting at least TWO of the FOUR breweries on the Gold Coast, with lunch and all beer tasters included. Throughout the day we keep you well-fed and full of delicious beer, with plenty of samples accompanied by tasting notes and witty commentary. If they're on site, the brewers are happy to show you the ropes, help you understand the brewing process and answer any questions you may have.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. All your friends may know you're of-age, but it's only the first time we've met, and we'd hate for you to get turned away from any of the breweries by looking too young to appreciate good brews. Strictly no drinking on the vehicle.

Hilltop Hops Day Tour

All tasters and lunch included, plus transport to/from the hop farm. We will finish the tour by dropping you within Brisbane City/Fortitude Valley at the end of the day.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. Closed-toe shoes recommended. Strictly no drinking on the vehicle. Itinerary subject to change based on opening hours, events, traffic, etc.

Gold Coast Distillery Tour Book Now 9 Available × × × × × SOLD OUT
Gold Coast Distillery Tour

Gold Coast Distillery Tour

Join our unique Distillery Tour on the Gold Coast and get behind the scenes of small scale, local gin and rum distilleries and breweries.

After pick up at one of our set locations, we will start with beer education and samples at AWOL the Gold Coast's first barrel-aged taproom. We want to ensure that you understand where beer comes from - after all, gin starts life as beer!

Once we've enjoyed a tasting paddle here, it's off to Granddad Jack's Distillery in Burleigh for an in-depth exploration of the distilling process as well as a range of house-made spirits paired with delicious locally made tonic waters and garnishes. The story, the history, and the samples will keep you fascinated!

A newcomer to the Coast but not to spirits is Capricorn Distillery with a range of gins and rums (we'll focus on the rums) in a funky industrial warehouse in the back streets of Burleigh. Here we will get a chat about what makes rum rum and how to experience the true flavours of this often misaligned spirit.

Finish the day at Rusty Barrel, a whisky and tapas bar located in Varsity Lakes. You'd never know it was here, but you'll be glad to have found it! Jesse, the on-site mixologist, will guide our guests through three whisk(e)y tastings. We'll also end with some food here - it's been a big day of tastings! - and once finished you can choose to kick on, or we will get you back to where you need to be on the GC. Within reason, of course.

Come out and support local on this fun day out that caters to all discerning tastes.
