Best of Brisbane

Welcome to the Best of Brisbane! We invite you to come with us and discover some of Brisbane’s worst-kept secrets and best beer.

After your pick up, we will begin our day by visiting Newstead Brewing Co where you have the chance to sample their core range of beers – plus maybe a few seasonal brews if you’re lucky - and get treated to a behind-the-scenes guided tour of a working brewery, where an incredible staff member will talk you through the brewing process and methods involved in getting your beer from ingredients to finished product.

Around the corner we stop into Green Beacon Brewing Co for some generous samples of their award-winning beer. While we recommend a few for you based on what tried previously, there's flexibility to try their seasonal releases and even cider if it's on tap.

Learning about the brewing process can be hungry work, so at our third stop, Archer Brewery at the International Hotel in Spring Hill, you not only get a delicious lunch to soak up your previous samples, but a schooner of their brewed-on-site beer. The bottle shop here is mind-blowing, and a great place to splurge on some new, unique beers from around the globe.

After a leisurely visit, we end our day with a stop at one of the various other breweries around town, from Aether to Ballistic to Bacchus to anything in between! Each brewery offers a core range to taste, as well as constantly creating some new and exciting flavours that we may find on tap.

Once back in the city, we will drop you off at one of our partner pubs, where you can keep drinking delicious beer to your hearts’ content.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. All your friends may know you're of-age, but it's only the first time we've met, and we'd hate for you to get turned away from any of the breweries by looking too young to appreciate good brews. Strictly no drinking on the vehicle.

Please note that we are visiting working breweries and it’s suggested you wear closed-toe shoes so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Also, since they don’t always run on a set schedule, we will try and catch the brewers in action but that can’t always be guaranteed; keep an open mind on the day because no matter what or who we see, the beers are always epic. Sometimes the itineraries will change at a whim; this may be because of traffic, a last-minute decision from the brewery or any number of things, so we ask for your patience and flexibility.

Taste of Tamborine - Brisbane Departure

Please note this tour requires a minimum of 4 people to operate. We invite you to come with us and discover the beauty of Mt Tamborine in the hinterland between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Magnificent views and brews at the same time!

After your pick up, we will begin the day by visiting Newstead Brewing Co where you're encouraged to sample all the core range of beers on tap - plus maybe a few seasonal or one-off beers currently available. Your guides will take you through beer ingredients, including some witty, historical commentary, and enlist a brilliant Newstead team member to walk you through the brewery and explain the complete brewing process.

Breaking up the journey down the M1 we stop in at Beenleigh Rum Distillery in Beenleigh. Here you will be treated to a tour of the working artisan rum distillery and sample the products when finished. We have plenty of room in our van for you to bring a couple bottles home with you. CLOSED-TOE SHOES REQUIRED FOR THIS PORTION OF THE TOUR. Please note the drive between Newstead and Beenleigh is roughly 40 minutes.

Another 45 minute drive gets us to the top of Mount Tamborine. Take in the stunning scenery along the way, chat with your fellow beer appreciators, swap first-beer stories, or maybe play some trivia and win prizes!

Upon arrival at Fortitude Brewing we will see the working brewery and all the equipment involved in producing some delicious beer. We will grab paddles for everyone to taste Fortitude’s core range of beers and enjoy them over pizzas.

After lunch we’ll give you some free time to explore Gallery Walk on your own (30-45 minutes depending on time), where you can pick up souvenirs, taste fudge or even mix up the day by sampling some local wines (at your own cost) before we load up the van to continue down the hill (roughly 30 minutes) to our final stop.

Be aware that the road down is a bit windy, so if you suffer from motion or car sickness, please ensure you have something to combat it or sit near the front of the van.

A short drive down from Fortitude Brewing is the discreet entrance to one of the many incredible breweries on Mount Tamborine - but you wouldn't have any idea it's here. This is because we have exclusive access to visit Beard & Brau at the source! Owner/brewer Chris "Fish" Herring makes small batch brews on his farm in Tamborine and has just celebrated his tenth anniversary in Queensland. Have a chance to talk all things beer and try some of the best around!

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, so once we leave here we will head back to Brisbane - roughly a 35 minute drive. We are happy to drop you where you were picked up, or at one of our partner pubs where you can carry on with a few more craft beers.

Don't forget to bring a photo ID with you. All your friends may know you're of-age, but it's only the first time we've met, and we'd hate for you to get turned away from any of the breweries by looking too young to appreciate good brews. Also. please be aware that this tour does involve a significant amount of drive time (roughly 40 minutes between each venue) which may be affected by traffic conditions on the day. We have lots of stories to share, though, so you won't even notice how quickly the time passes!

Please note that brewers don’t always run on a set schedule, so we will try and catch the brewers in action but that can’t always be guaranteed; keep an open mind on the day because no matter what or who we see, the beers are always epic. Sometimes the itineraries will change at a whim; this may be because of traffic, a last-minute decision from the brewery or any number of things, so we ask for your patience and flexibility.

Please note this tour requires a minimum of 4 people to operate. We invite you to come with us and discover the beauty of Mt Tamborine in the hinterland between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Magnificent views and brews at the same time!

We start the day with a visit to one of the Coast's best bars, Sandbar, where we will settle in with a tasting paddle of some local and domestic beers to get the ball rolling. It's here, across from the crashing waves, we will discuss how to taste beer as well as the main ingredients that make up this tasty tipple.

Onward we go to a tiny micro-brewery in a residential garage: Madocke Brewing, focusing on the unique and tasty Belgian beer styles. The owners will go through the different styles as you taste your way through a delectible experience!

From here, we settle in for a leisurely drive (about 30 minutes) up Mount Tamborine. Take in the scenery, chat with your fellow beer lovers and share stories during the trip, or maybe play some trivia and win prizes!

Upon arrival at Fortitude Brewing we will see the working brewery and all the equipment involved in producing some delicious beer. We warm your palate up with a tasting paddle of their core beers to accompany your pre-ordered pizza.

Once your belly has a a lining on it, we’ll give you some free time to explore the Gallery Walk on your own (30-45 minutes depending on time), where you can pick up souvenirs, taste fudge or even mix up the day by sampling some local wines (at your own cost) before heading down the hill to our final stop of the day.

Be aware that the road down is a bit windy, so if you suffer from motion or car sickness, please ensure you have something to combat it or sit near the front of the van.

Alterntaively, we might head back to the coast for a visit to Black Hops Brewing, where the crew have built an intimate venue with a tasting room perfectly structured to sample their core range (and special cellar-door releases) of delicious beers. Speak to the brewers, learn about the brewing process and see how everything functions by getting up close and personal.

Once back in the city, we will drop you off at your original pick-up location or one of our partner pubs, where you can keep drinking delicious beer to your hearts’ content.

After your pick up, we will begin the day with beer tasting at Newstead Brewing Co where you’re encouraged to sample all the core range of beers on tap – plus maybe a few seasonal or one-off beers. Moving into the shadows of Queensland's iconic XXXX Brewery, we visit the funky and unique Aether Brewing, where we introduce you to their range of craft beers plus maybe a few guest brews that may be pouring on the day.

Leaving here, we begin the 45 minute drive to 4 Hearts Brewing at The Pumpyard. Here we will get out and stretch our legs, then have a tour of the brewery. Located within the walls of an historic building and with glistening metallic tanks you can reach out and touch, Wade Curtis (the owner) has trademarked the “stainless steel selfie”, so grab a picture to share with your friends!

The day will see us visiting TWO of the FOUR breweries on the Gold Coast, along with lunch at a craft beer bar. Throughout the day we keep you well-fed and full of delicious beer, with plenty of samples accompanied by tasting notes and witty commentary. The brewers are happy to show you the ropes, help you understand the brewing process and answer any questions you may have.
